Transportation

Brickcast strives to ensure that all transport needs of our products is adequately addressed. However, there are still some considerations to cater for, such as -

Breakages
During the transport of concrete products, breakages, chips and defects are inevitable. As per SANS guidelines,
5 to 10% of product breakages is likely to occur, regardless of transport method.

Crane Trucks
Transport trucks, such as the one picture here, are recommended for the efficient handling of product on site. Trucks without cranes require additional resources, thus complicating transport and delaying sites.

Third Party Haulage
Clients are more than welcome to send their own form of transport to our factories to collect paid product. However, it is important to note that Brickcast is not liable for any breakages, losses or any other mishap that may occur during the transport process.

Brickcast reserve the right not to load any vehicle that is deemed unsafe, or otherwise compromised in any way, shape or form, as outlined in the National Motor Vehicles Act, Act 93 of 1998.

Third Party Installation

Clients may opt to have our products installed by third party installers.

It is important to note the following for the guarantee and warranty to be enforced to the fullest extent -

Handling of Product
Products must be handled with care once on site, otherwise breakages, chips and damages will occur.

Installed as per Industry accepted guidelines
Our products must be installed using industry accepted guidelines, methodologies, techniques and tricks to ensure that the product is installed correctly, and that clients receive the most of their purchase.

Site Preparation
It is the duty of the client and the installer to ensure that the installation site is adequately prepared in order to receive product, and to begin the installation process. Unprepared sites can lead to unforeseen issues with product, such as discoloration, cracks, chips and breakages.

color-difference

Color

While every effort is made to ensure that our products are consistent, everytime, there are external factors that may cause variations in color.

These include, but are not limited to -

Material Quality
Raw aggregates can vary in color, as these are not man-made components. As such, no aggregate is the same. This can have an effect on the color of pavers.

Pigment Variation
The pigment used in our products can vary in color produced as a result of the aforementioned material quality.

Multiblend© Colors
Our Multiblend© color is a combination of other colors offered to create a more unique finish on our paving products. As such, Multiblend© can be likened to abstract art, in the sense of no of consistency in the way pavers are colored.

Getting around this
Before committing to an order, we strongly encourage our clients and customers alike to agree on at least 3 or more pavers that cover the acceptable range of color in a paver range, as outlined in the South African National Standards guidelines.

On a client accepting this, their order will enter production accordingly, pending payment and approval of quotation.

Disputes

Clients are encouraged to engage with us as soon as there is a dispute, so that said dispute can be resolved in the quickest way possible.

Should a dispute be lodged with Brickcast, clients and customers are advised to stop installation of product on site until a formal closure of the dispute is reached.

Depending on the nature of the dispute received, extensive testing and site evaluations will be conducted to determine factors surrounding the dispute.

If our products are found to be -

• Compliant with SANS guidelines, where applicable.
• Passing in-house testing, where applicable.
• The result of improper installation by third parties.

The responsibility of resolving the dispute is then transferred, entirely, to the complainant.

Brickcast will then move to formally close the dispute.

Depending on the nature of the dispute, and the conclusion reached, Brickcast reserves the right to void all warranty and guarantee on product delivered to site.

If our products are found not to be compliant with the above, senior management will liaise with the complainant to resolve the dispute in a timely and cost effective manner.

Disputes will be reviewed individually, and will be subjected to internal review processes as seen by senior management.
